Track Name: A Vietnam Song
We turned 20 in the jungle behind the barrel of a gun
We spent our best years fighting in a war we never won
They called us in a letter and we had to say goodbye
They said it was our duty but they never told us why

But I still hear the chopper blades and I still the smell the smoke
And the ones of us who left there never really made it home
And the people who waited don't know us anymore
We lost so much more than blood fighting somebody else's war

They painted us a picture, they said the cause meant so much more
But we were only dog tags, just pawns on a board
They never knew our names but they carved them in the stone
So they could tell our parents that we didn't die alone

But I still hear the chopper blades and I still smell the smoke
And the ones of us who left there never really made it home
And the people who waited don't know us anymore
We lost so much more than blood fighting somebody else's war

Sometimes I get visits from the men we left behind
Well you can call them ghosts, but they're just heroes froze in time
Track Name: Talk of a Small Town
You were the talk of a small town
Everybody knows your name
They put your picture in the paper
Right there on the front page
But you were buried with your secrets
So they ain't got much to say
You were the talk of a small town
Whispers and funeral parades

And the courier ran a story
They printed "Oh, what a shame
He seemed to be such a good man
But just look at the choice he made."
But nobody understands that
Sometimes there ain't no other way
To get out of a small town
Except by going to your grave

And they laid you by your father
While your mother stood so brave
She laid flowers on the marker
While the preacher softly prayed
Well I guess if it was easy
Maybe you might have stayed
But you live forever in a small town
Even when death takes you away

But nobody understands that
Sometimes there ain't no other way
You were the talk of a small town
Whispers and funeral parades
Track Name: Wedding Dress
Hello, it's been a while. How is everything?
I heard you found a new love now and she's got herself a ring
I had a different name a hundred years ago
You probably don't remember, all the pictures are old.
Oh but I am frozen, still stuck in that moment

Something old, something new
I meant it when I said I do
Some things aren't meant to break, to break
Something borrowed, something blue
Something all about losing you
That I can't seem to take, to take
I'll always remember you the best
The way I felt in my wedding dress

Funny how the little things stop me in my tracks
You're moving forward and I'm still going back
I guess I don't mean anything, I'm just time that you lost
All of those feelings fade as the fall turns to frost
Oh but I am frozen, still stuck in that moment

Something old, something new
I meant it when I said I do
Some things aren't meant to break, to break
Something borrowed, something blue
Something all about losing you
That I can't seem to take, to take
I'll always remember you the best
The way I felt in my wedding dress

It looks like I was just a vice you couldn't keep
I hope that you find what you want, Heaven knows that wasn't me
Oh but I am frozen, still stuck in that moment
Track Name: Over When It's Over
We never saw this coming,
too busy making plans
But life is such a gamble
when you've been dealt a losing hand
So I brace for the impact
I wait for the explosion
The fire burns and the whole world turns,
But I'm lost in the commotion
Slow motion

Hope is there and then it's gone
And nothing stings like being wrong
But people like us, they can't start over
And time, you know, it moves so fast
And nothing can erase the past
And people like us, they can't start over
It's just over when it's over.

You love like it's a habit
Like something you don't mean
The words sound so familiar
But it's hard to read the lines in between
I'm nothing but a ghost now
Just a whisper of what was
And your empty eyes look through me
My god, we've lost so much
So much

Hope is there and then it's gone
And nothing stings like being wrong
But people like us, they can't start over
And time, you know, it moves so fast
And nothing can erase the past
And people like us, they can't start over
It's just over when it's over.

Hope is there and then it's gone
And nothing stings like being wrong
But people like us, they can't start over
And time, you know, it moves so fast
And nothing can erase the past
And people like us, they can't start over
It's just over when it's over.
